I don't agree with K, not in technicalities, but in premise. Art doesn't have to mean anything, do anything, say anything, be anything. All who create are likening themselves to divinity. It's people with a "license in art" who take all the soul out of everything and try to put labels onto everything. Why can't the man just paint? Does he have to have controlling factory educated people complaining about it?

Anthony Dominguez is right. And there are no words left for the man who responds to his critique with 'you, sir, are a moron'. Sophisticated.
Maybe somebody should explain why exactly this art is somehow uninspired? First of all, the symbolism has been already used so many times, that it became a cliche (like depiction of the cross as an allusion to divinity, the threatening shadow, the shadow that appears something else than the object that casts it, etc.) Then, the subjects are rather fit for illustration purposes, than for stand-alone painting. Yes, pop art changed these delimitation, but it had a statement behind it and clever ways to adapt techniques. This artist's technique has nothing particular and no interesting resolving. The general impression is that the artist has reached a decent level of skill, but his ideas are naive and the symbolism facile. The painting of the strange-eyed native american man is plain kitsch, and stereotypical.
People on the internet have popularized this kind of art, because it's easy to understand and it appeals to the masses.
Perhaps the fact that i have a license in art doesn't give me any discernment, right? Right, i'll go back to my crayola box, trying to achieve this degree of awesomeness. And excuse my English.
